Aoife Sexton, Chief Privacy Officer at Trūata:
I act as Chief Privacy Officer in Europe’s first data anonymisation and analytics firm held via a trust structure and designed specifically with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind. Trūata aims is to help organisations conduct analytics on truly anonymized data in full compliance with the new law.
Trūata was established by Mastercard and IBM and also works with artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) firm C3 IoT as a beneficiary and technology provider.
By way of background, I am a technology and privacy lawyer with over 25 years experience working in and with companies in the technology sector. I have specific expertise in advising emerging and established technology companies particularly those offering data centric products/services such as data analytics, SaaS, and cloud computing. My specific focus has been on advising companies on how to adapt business models to the ever-changing data protection laws, on how to embed privacy by design into their day to day operations, on developing proactive corporate strategies to demonstrate compliance thereby building customer trust, on managing cross-border data transfers as well as managing multi-jurisdictional product launches.
I am a graduate of University College Dublin (BCL) and a postgraduate of the College of Europe (Bruges). I am a Certified Data Protection Practitioner (PC.dp) as well as holding the IAPP privacy qualification CIPP/E.
